If you are a gentlemen or have someone in your life that may need some organization tips, here is the college closet guide for guys!
A huge thank you to my boyfriend for allowing me to use his closet! xx
Tip 1: Use hangers that are the same color and size.
Why? It keeps clothes from falling off and creates a cleaner and more organized view.
Tip 2: Keep clothes color coordinated within sleeve length sections.
Tip 3: Colored sections should pick up from where you left off in the previous section.
Tip 4: Donate, donate, donate! Do CONSTANT clothing cleanses. Selling is a great option, I do both on a monthly basis! Remember: More is less.
Let’s Begin.

No felt hangers? No problem. Most of men’s style clothing will not have a wider neck hole that causes the clothes to slip off the hanger. The only clothes that should be hung are the ones worn most often, or are a little bit nicer than your gym clothes.
Sweaters and long sleeves can be found in the left corner, because they will not be worn as much in the Arizona Spring/Summer season.
T-Shirts are in the middle section, depending on what you might wear most often. This is the section for your everyday grabs. I swear, these are not the same white shirts, I had to confirm for myself too.

To the right are the button downs that are a little more casual. The nicer button downs for special occasions can be placed in their dust bags until needed.
Lastly, jeans and trousers that are not worn as often are organized on a convenient pant hanger in the corner. These can be found at TJ Maxx or Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Pants and shorts can be found right above the hung clothes. Everything is in one place to make things a little easier.
Personally, I prefer to color coordinate all the clothing pieces but that is up to the individual. It makes for a cleaner look.
Sport shorts and pants can be put in drawers, it will become too messy if left in the closet.

Tip 5: Keep laundry (if you have space) in two baskets- one for colors and one for whites. This makes it easier when doing your laundry. Take care of your clothes! For your delicates, place them in a separate bag.
Tip 6: Hang dry clothes, sometimes the dryer will ruin them.
Hint: Read washing instructions found inside clothes, typically near the bottom. Sometimes they are Dry Clean only!
Tip 7: Keep an iron or steamer at the ready. If not, when you take a hot shower, hang your clothes in the bathroom and it will act as a self steamer!
Tip 8: If you want to look more tailored, find your local tailor. Wearing clothes that fit to you will make a world of a difference!
Thanks for reading! Don’t forget to have fun while organizing, good luck!
