| Why I decided to make a second Instagram page |

When it comes to fashion, branding is everything. A few months ago, I was scrolling through my Instagram to get a perspective on what my “brand image” was. As I landed upon posts from two years ago, I thought to myself, “WHAT WAS I THINKING?” I was posting things that weren’t relevant to what I was doing. I would post a picture of things like a bag of half eaten sunflower seeds I had in my car, a picture of hair (which isn’t bad, the quality was just terrible), or something like my playlist on my iTunes, which was not legible. On top of that, my captions were irrelevant. I immediately started to delete all the posts that were not of quality for the branding perspective that I was going for.

After deleting and cleaning up my Instagram, I started to notice that my brand image didn’t line up exactly to how I wanted it to be perceived. I had pictures of myself dressed up, which was good, but I also had pictures of my family or videos of myself dancing. I realized that I needed to brand my fashion profession. This was due to the fact that I am interested in going to this industry. What better way to do that than a separate account just for fashion posts?

At first it was a fashion style page, but I changed it to a fashion lifestyle page. Mainly because fashion to me is more than just style. Fashion is a lifestyle, incorporating the way people live, dress, accessorize, what music they listen to, and even how they drink their coffee. It’s a lifestyle plain and simple.

It’s currently up as @gabrielnakovich. I’m working on building up a following and posting as much as I can. The main vision for this page is to catch the most fashionable moments in my life and make them a post for people to see. I’m looking to inspire others and be an inspiration for people to enjoy their life and be able to dress the way they love to dress. To also be able to do the things they love to do while still being fashionable.

The main idea behind the aesthetic of my page is to share my experiences with a simple, clean, luxurious feel. Each picture will be edited in order to please and fit the luxury aesthetic. One thing about luxury is that luxury can be created anywhere you go. I live by a quote that I happened to create myself, “Be creative, be inspired to inspire, keep learning, and always make time for the people you care about.” I hope for this quote to live through my fashion lifestyle page and for my viewers to enjoy the content.

So I leave you with one thing “How do you brand yourself?”
